Urban Futures - Safety & Security

Crime and anti-social behaviour both increase and vary in urban settings. Grey areas between what is socially perceived as legal/illegal and acceptable/unacceptable behaviour, including online discourse that risks physical safety, make this a complex and multifaceted area.

By understanding how people feel secure, how safety can be maintained, and the barriers preventing this, we can enhance physical safety, emotional wellbeing, and a shared sense of belonging in urban settings.
