We are looking for a driven and enthusiastic Assistant / Trainee Quantity Surveyor / Estimator to work alongside and assist our Commercial team at MGM Construction.

As a trainee quantity surveyor, you will assist, work closely with and have mentorship from the following:

  • Estimator
  • Quantity Surveyor
  • Commercial Director
  • Operations Director
  • Project Managers
  • Site Managers
  • Accounts Department

 

Roles and responsibilities you will be assisting us with:

  • Preparation of cost estimates and bills of quantities
  • Negotiating with suppliers and subcontractors to obtain quotations
  • Managing project budgets, including forecasting and monitoring costs
  • Maintaining accurate records and documentation of all project-related costs and financial transactions
  • Placing and managing Subcontract Orders
  • Producing and monitoring cash flow forecasts
  • Material and Plant procurement and monitoring
  • Cost Value Reconciliations (value, cost & profit reporting)
  • Contract review, risk management and cost-saving measures
  • Producing, submitting, and negotiating monthly valuations, obtaining payment certificates, and submitting invoices for payment
  • Monitoring, pricing, and negotiating variations to the contract
  • Monitoring and agreeing final accounts with both the Subcontractors and with the Client

Alongside and with help from your mentors, you will work closely with architects, engineers, subcontractors, and other professionals to assist with the commercial management of the projects.
