Assessment Regulations and Policies

2024/25 ARTA

The following regulations, policies and procedures apply to the assessment of all Northumbria University taught awards unless specific exceptions have been approved by the Education Committee, and Academic Board where appropriate.  These regulations and policies are designed to ensure that academic standards are maintained and that there is fairness and consistency in how student results are agreed.

Academic Regulations for Taught Awards (ARTA) are subject to annual review to ensure academic standards are maintained and that there is fairness and consistency in how student results are agreed. Variations to the principles outlined in the Assessment Regulations for Taught Awards can be coordinated and approved within Academic Registry, and are clearly stated on individual published Programme Specifications. Please contact rg.variationorders@northumbria.ac.uk for a composite list of all approved Variation Orders, if required.
