Dr Lauren McMillan

Lecturer

Department: Mechanical and Construction Engineering

Dr Lauren McMillan is a Lecturer at the University of Northumbria. After completing her Ph.D. in the Infrastructure Systems Institute at University College London (UCL), she continued her research as a Postdoctoral Research Fellow in UCL’s Institute of Risk and Disaster Reduction before joining the University of Northumbria. Lauren’s research focuses on enhancing the sustainability and resilience of complex infrastructure systems, employing systems-based approaches to failure management. She explores methods to bolster infrastructure resilience to chronic and discrete hazards, including machine learning and deep learning-based techniques.
