Our AlumniThe IntoUniversity Centre aims to empower young people to achieve their academic and career ambitions and succeed in life. The Centre is based in Monkchester Community Centre in the East End of Newcastle and is supported by a collaborative partnership between Northumbria and Newcastle Universities, and IntoUniversity.
IntoUniversity is a charity that inspires young people from disadvantaged backgrounds to progress to Higher Education, they have an extensive national network of high-quality, learning centres situated in local communities.
Supporting young people aged 7-18, the Centre provides academic support, soft-skill development, and career guidance, helping young people to achieve a university place or another chosen aspiration. It delivers after-school academic support sessions, including FOCUS, a programme of aspiration-building workshops and a mentoring scheme led by university students and industry professionals.
IntoUniversity takes a unique approach by providing local learning centres in disadvantaged communities. Since its founding in 2002, IntoUniversity has established an extensive national network of high-quality, local learning centres where young people are inspired to achieve.
