Portfolios

A portfolio enables you to demonstrate your personality, creativity and skills. Find out more about the portfolio requirements of your course here.

Some of our postgraduate courses require a portfolio as part of the application process. This will enable you to express your personality and demonstrate your creativity.

Your university portfolio is a way to provide evidence of your work, giving us a greater understanding of your skills and your passion of the subject area.

You can find out more about the portfolio requirements of your course using the links below.

If your course does not have specific advice below, it is recommended that you should demonstrate previous creative experience through some form of portfolio “presentation”. The contents of this can include (but not restricted to) previous (physical and digital) Design and Arts discipline projects, presentations, professional practice work and exhibition work. This work can be presented in physical, digital or hybrid format and can be static or through motion graphics. It is recommended that you include some form of developmental process/ drawings, artefacts and finished artwork if possible. The Programme Leaders will be able to advise and answer any specific questions related to this as part of your application.

If you have any queries regarding the admissions process, you can contact our Applicant Services Team via bc.applicantservices@northumbria.ac.uk or by calling 0191 406 0901.
