Case study: Embedding design-led innovation to improve performance in a multinational manufacturing corporation.

A programme of collaborative research with Northumbria University led to changes in innovation-culture and strategic thinking across a Fortune 250 company. By embedding Northumbria’s research findings, a culture of design-led, customer-centric innovation was established to complement the existing organisational focus on technical excellence. As a result, new product ranges were defined, developed, and launched that delivered significant financial return. Due to these successful innovations the Corporation received its first international design award and doubled the innovation performance of the UK-led division. Find out more
