Jess Tindall

Assistant Professor

Department: Mechanical and Construction Engineering

EE Jesstindall Staffprofile 255Personal interests in sustainability, passive design, efficient engineering systems and pedagogy make lecturing in the School of the Built and Natural Environment a fulfilling career for me. I love having the opportunity to help people understand how to design good quality sustainable buildings; including the mechanical and electrical systems needed to bring them to life.

I entered the Building Services Engineering profession because I saw how I could use my career to improve the overall environment by reducing the energy consumed by new and refurbished buildings. I gained industrial experience with a large multi disciplinary consultancy during the placement year in my sandwich degree and a further period following graduation. During this time I worked on a wide range of projects including Public transport interchanges, a large city centre hotel, commercial office developments and a secure London Underground control centre.
