Ted Carden

Assistant Professor

Department: Northumbria School of Design, Arts and Creative Industries

Ted Carden is a Senior Lecturer in Graphic Design within the School of Design. He studied and taught graphic design at the prestigious Glasgow School of Art and worked extensively in the graphics industry before joining Northumbria. As a practicing graphic designer, his professional experience ranges from working for award-winning graphic design and interior design consultancies, to a decade as Design Manager/Art Director with HarperCollins Publishers. He has extensive experience across the visual communications field in design for print and online media.

Currently Ted is year tutor and co-author of the Publishing Design pathway across 2nd and final year within the Graphic Design course. Since 2008 he has been the External Examiner for the Graphics, Illustration, Multimedia and Publication Design undergraduate degree awards at Staffordshire University.
