An International Law School

Northumbria Law School is an international community with a network of overseas links. Every year we welcome students from many different parts of the world who arrive to study law at Northumbria on our Direct Entrant LLB (Hons) Full-time programme, our LLB (Hons) Open Learning programme, our professional programmes such as the Graduate Diploma in Law, the Legal Practice Course and the Bar Professional Training Course or for one of our full-time Masters programmes. The Law School not only provides excellent educational opportunities to overseas students, but also offers a world of exciting possibilities to students from the UK and the European Community.

Our international experience means that you will be engaged with academic tutors and professional support staff who understand the needs of international students and who will endeavour to help you maximise the benefits of your time with us. The cultural diversity of Northumbria Law School extends beyond the student body and there are a significant number of International academics in the Faculty team. Our academic programmes prepare students for the world of work in an increasingly global context.

In addition and importantly, you will meet, interact and make friends with fellow students from a diverse student body – an experience that many of our graduates say is a powerful, positive and truly enhancing experience.

Northumbria Law School is part of a University with a strong International focus and therefore there are a range of support mechanisms in the University that make the International student experience a great one – from induction, advice, accommodation, part-time employment, study skills, library, student union activities, sports etc. Northumbria University’s International Office has a wide range of information for all international students which you can access directly or through our Regional Offices in China, India, Thailand and Malaysia.

In addition the city on Newcastle and the North East region offer a host of wonderful social, cultural and heritage opportunities that have helped to make Northumbria University such a popular destination for international students.

Increasingly there are opportunities for students to spend time studying overseas with one of our international partners, and we have a number of exchange partner agreements across the world and these are growing all the time.

Alternatively we have a number of distance learning programmes offered across the globe.
