'Fabulous Femininities': a three-year AHRC-funded project that seeks to understand the way that resistant feminine identities are performed by burlesque clubgoers via specific DIY approaches to costume. Co-I: Dr Claire Nally.

2019-20

June 2020: Dr Kit Heyem co-organised Approaching Gender Nonconformity, a Zoom unconference (participant-led discussion) bringing together academics of different disciplines with heritage professionals to discuss methodological approaches to past, present, and fictional gender nonconformity. This event drew around 60 attendees from the UK, US, and Germany.

February-August 2020: Dr. Kit Heyem led Trans Awareness Training workshops with different groups of HE staff to develop inclusive practices for trans students and staff. Workshops were held at Cardiff Met (Feb), King's College London (March), Open University (May-June), and Middlesex University (August). 

January 2020: Dr. Rosie White delivered two guest lectures on women and British television at the University of Regensburg, Germany. 

October 2019: Dr. Victoria Bazin and Dr. Melanie Waters contributed to a roundtable discussion at the Modernist Studies Association Annual Conference in Toronto on feminist periodical culture. 

July 2019: Dr. Mel Waters and Dr. Victoria Bazin invited to speak at Murray Edwards College, Cambridge, on 'Purpose, Power and Profit: Feminist Ethical Enterprise and Cultural Industries.'
