You can check the English Language requirements, plus accepted English qualifications for your chosen course below.
In addition, we provide in-sessional support to international students across the university and we also offer a portfolio of short courses for professionals.
Students will experience a range of academic contexts and tasks and develop their ability to deal with the study requirements of a British university whilst improving their academic and social English.
Our programmes aim to help students become confident, independent and reflective learners who are able to devise their own strategies for continuing their English language and academic development both at Northumbria and beyond.
We place great importance on the quality of experience we provide to students from a wide range of backgrounds and countries including the UK & Europe, the Middle East, Africa, South East and East Asia, Latin-America and the Indian Sub continent.
All our English language programmes are accredited by the British Council.
Faculty Requirements
The University's English language requirements for most academic courses are listed below. We usually require you to have a University recognised English language test such as IELTS, Pearson or equivalent.
