Meet our staffThis research brings together academics working in optical communications, microwave imaging and antenna, non-linear control and advanced signal processing.

Optical communications is focused on theoretical investigation, simulation and practical implementation of devices and systems for wireless, visible light and free space optical communications. Antenna research concentrates on the microwave region for mobile telephones and Radio Frequency Identification Devices. Our research in nonlinear control covers observer design and path/motion planning, while the focus of advanced signal processing is compressive sensing and chaotic communication systems.

The group research areas include microwave technology, free space optics, liquid-optics, control engineering and nuclear instrumentation. Key examples of projects include:
