Designed for those who work with patients suffering from respiratory disease, this CPD Masterclass will give you the opportunity to explore a wide range of respiratory disorders and examine contemporary evidence on the management of these disorders.

This respiratory masterclass will teach you the Bates’ model of history taking and physical examination skills required for assessing the respiratory system.  Utilisation of the SOAP note format, S=subjective (history taking) using Medical Models; O=Objective (physical examination), A=assessment, P=planning will form the basis of the day.

Content Overview

  • Anatomy, physiology and related pathophysiology of the respiratory system

  • History taking for respiratory complaints

  • Use of medical models

  • Use of consultation models

  • Clinical Skills/Physical Examination of the respiratory system

  • Clinical reasoning

  • Contemporary evidence based decision making, interventions and treatment options

  • Use of contemporary clinical guidelines -  NICE, BTS, RCP, NEWs.
