Why did you choose Northumbria University, Newcastle?

I originally came to Nortumbria as part of my Erasmus exchange, it seemed like a good choice for me.

What do you think of Newcastle and our region and what are your favourite things to do?

I like Newcastle because it is a lively city, it is the first Student city for nightlife in the UK! However as much as I love partying once in a while, my favourite things to do are trips to the countryside. Northumberland is such a beautiful place to be on a weekend. I particularly like Bamburgh castle and its beach. I do love Tynemouth as well.

Did you find Northumbria University welcoming? Was it easy to fit in?

Northumbria University is a very welcoming university. It has got a lot of events for freshers in the first week and the Students Union is very involved in making students have a good time. It also provides lots of support to students which I did not have at my home university. It also has a Student Support and Wellbeing centre which I think is good to provide support to students with difficulties, whatever it may be. It was easy to fit in because I was living in halls and my flatmates were such nice people.

What have you enjoyed most about coming to Northumbria University?

Meeting so many international students was what I enjoyed most.

Who has helped you most since you came to Northumbria?

Probably the counselors from Mental Health Support.

What is your favourite place on campus?

Habita. Such a nice student bar with nice cocktails.

What is the best thing about your course?

Being able to do what I love.

What do you want to do in the future? What skills have you learned/improved that you think will be of most use in your future career?

I would like to either work as a translator, doing subtitles or be a Production Manager in the film industry, scouting locations and just be involved into the making of a film. With my second year group film, I have realised that I may be more creative than I thought.

If you could offer some advice to students thinking of coming to study here what would you say?

Just do it!

How do you feel you have changed as a person since being at Northumbria University, Newcastle (e.g. confidence)?

Confidence in meeting new people, more outgoing and having fun more often.

Enjoyable, fun, memorable!
