HA7015 - Apprenticeship End Point

What will I learn on this module?

This module is the final of four designed to support your progress towards the End Point Assessment (EPA) that is the culmination of your Higher Apprenticeship.

Your learning will support demonstration of some of the core duties that underpin the Higher Apprenticeship standard and will be tailored by you to reflect the manner in which knowledge, skills and behaviours are constructed and enacted within the context of your employment. It will focus on Duty 3 - Lead and influence agreed projects to deliver organisational strategy such as change and agile transformation programmes, diversification, new product implementation, and customer experience improvement.

Your performance on this module (and hence the award of academic credits) will depend upon your engagement with the HA standards and completion of the end point project. Completion of this module and progress to the next stage of your studies will depend upon:

• The production of a strategic business proposal, presentation and questioning during the End Point Assessment process.

How will I learn on this module?

You will develop through completing the strategic business proposal developed in module 3. The proposal involves completing a relevant and defined piece of work that has a real business benefit. You will also prepare and deliver a presentation that, along with the strategic business proposal, appropriately covers the KSBs assigned to this method of assessment for assessment by the independent end point assessor.

The strategic business proposal should be designed to ensure to meet the needs of the business, have relevance to your role and allows the relevant KSBs to be assessed for the EPA. Your employer will ensure it has a real business application and the EPAO will ensure it meets the requirements of the EPA, including suitable coverage of the KSBs assigned to this assessment method as shown in the mapping of assessment methods.

The strategic business proposal does not need to be fully implemented during the EPA period, but it must be a comprehensive strategic business proposal that will enable full implementation at an appropriate time for the organisation. The strategic business proposal must include evidence of board or senior leader sign-off for implementation.

How will I be supported academically on this module?

The strategic business proposal is a fully independent piece of work. You will have been supported to develop the skills require to undertake this during your engagement with learning opportunities to date. You are also supported by access to university resources and facilities to allow you to conduct academic research alongside your practical application in the workplace.

Module abstract

The End Point Assessment requires that you complete a strategic business proposal - a relevant and defined piece of work that has a real business benefit. You will have 12 weeks to write and submit the strategic business proposal and presentation, following the EPAO’s approval of the strategic business proposal’s scope and title. You will then prepare and deliver a presentation that, along with the strategic business proposal, appropriately covers the KSBs assigned to this method of assessment. It will be followed by questioning from the independent assessor.
