If you already have an HND or foundation degree, this course will allow you to top it up to an honours degree with just one year of additional study. You will build on your all-round knowledge of business, adding a strong emphasis on finance.
Working in a large international organisation, a medium sized company or even a small start-up firm requires a range of business capabilities. The most valuable employees are those who have not only a sound knowledge and understanding of the various aspects of a business, but those who demonstrate strong leadership potential.
The ‘Business with’ suite of courses has been developed for those who are looking to enhance their business acumen or offer those seeking a grounding in business a strong platform on which to build. So whether your first degree was in business or not, this course will help you establish your career in the business world. To be successful on this course, you will need enthusiasm, commitment and a willingness to not only work hard but to embrace new ways of thinking. We also expect you to show initiative and be able to work independently.
The course includes specialist modules that cover topics like financial management, international finance and corporate reporting. With a finance specialism as part of your degree award, you’ll have an extra edge in employability.
On graduation you’ll be equipped to embark on a business- or finance-related career. Finance is a central function in business and our past students have been gone on to rewarding jobs in a variety of roles.

Northumbria University is committed to developing an inclusive, diverse and accessible campus and wider University community and are determined to ensure that opportunities we provide are open to all.
We are proud to work in partnership with AccessAble to provide Detailed Access Guides to our buildings and facilities across our City, Coach Lane and London Campuses. A Detailed Access Guide lets you know what access will be like when you visit somewhere. It looks at the route you will use getting in and what is available inside. All guides have Accessibility Symbols that give you a quick overview of what is available, and photographs to show you what to expect. The guides are produced by trained surveyors who visit our campuses annually to ensure you have trusted and accurate information.
You can use Northumbria’s AccessAble Guides anytime to check the accessibility of a building or facility and to plan your routes and journeys. Search by location, building or accessibility feature to find the information you need.
We are dedicated to helping students who may require additional support during their student journey and offer 1-1 advice and guidance appropriate to individual requirements.
