Trinity Square Accommodation

SGU students stay in the modern Trinity Square development during their time in Newcastle. You will receive help and support from SGU staff who will ensure your accommodation is organised ready for your arrival in the UK. Please note that SGU students should not apply for accommodation through the normal Northumbria University application process and should instead work with SGU staff to secure their accommodation.

Trinity Square is divided into five blocks which house approximately 1000 students. SGU students will share a self-contained apartment with five other SGU students. Students have their own double en-suite bedroom. Each apartment has a shared kitchen/living space which includes amenities such as a washing machine, tumble dryer, large stove, microwave, fridge freezer and a dishwasher. The open plan kitchen and living room provide an ideal base for socialising with flatmates, but if you'd like to go further afield, you can also take advantage of the generously sized communal hubs.

Whether you want to wind down in the brand new cinema room, revise in one of the study pods or work out in the on-site fitness suite, you’re sure to find a space to suit you in Trinity Square.

How do I apply for my accommodation?

SGU staff will support students with accommodation paperwork and should declare the following:

  • Any health conditions such as diabetes or allergies
  • Any health conditions that require specialist assistance
  • If you would prefer to live in a mixed gender flat – allocations are normally single gender
  • Students can make request to live with a specific individual or group and the Northumbria Accommodation Team will accommodate the request where possible

Once room allocations are complete you will receive an email with details of your room offer and how to accept it via your Northumbria student portal. As part of the booking process you will also be required to make a £250 advanced rent payment to secure your room. If students breach the Tenancy Agreement or if there are any issues in the accommodation students may be charged.

Can I live somewhere else?

Students who wish to live off campus must have permission from the Dean of Students Office – this can be discussed with St George’s admissions officer’s. Support for finding accommodation off campus is available and contact information will be provided by SGU admission counsellors.
