Fine Art at Northumbria | Facilities from Northumbria University on Vimeo.

"Hi, my name is Bailey and I study Fine Art here at Northumbria Uni. Today I’d like to show you some of the facilities we have on offer here for Fine Art students.

Having a studio space is the most important aspects of being an artist. Here we have 1st Year studio’s based in Squires Building, where we have the freedom to work independently or collaboratively on new exciting project briefs. They’re also fitted with sinks for washing up and plenty of lockers to store materials.

Just along the corridor is a workshop purpose built for print making, providing a wide range of industrial print presses from screen-print to lino. Once inducted, it’s as easy as arranging a time with a technician to create work using this equipment.

Downstairs in Squires Workshop, we have place for building anything from canvases to sculptures. Also within this workshop is a supplies store, where students are able to come choose from mediums including oil, acrylic and spray paints.

For students wanting to work in digital mediums, we also have access to the Mac Labs, containing high end processing Apple Mac Computers, capable of running most Adobe editing platforms like Photoshop and Premiere Pro."
