Dr David Brown

I welcome applications from prospective PhD students in my published fields: internal marketing and internal branding; value co-creation and co-destruction; food and drink sustainability; qualitative methodologies; mountain tourism and serious leisure; space, place and mobilities; and pedagogical simulation games.

I also welcome approaches from organisations seeking funded research or consultancy expertise.

At Northumbria University, I am Leader of the PhD Programme for Newcastle Business School. I also lead several modules and a cohort on the government-funded Small Business Leadership Programme.

Outside my home institution, I am a guest academic on the University of Exeter's MBA Programme, a committee member of the British Academy of Management's Research Methodology SIG, a board member of the Northern Advanced Research Training Initiative, and a secondary school governor. I have examined numerous PhD and DBA candidates globally, and have been an external examiner and a validation panel member for a number of English and Scottish universities.

I am a Senior Fellow of the Higher Education Academy, a PGCE-qualified teacher, and have 18 years' industrial experience in senior sales and marketing management positions with globally prominent corporations.
