Christopher Parker

PhD in Social Policy

I graduated from Northumbria University with a BA(h) in Human Geography in 2011.  Following this I developed my academic interests in homelessness and social exclusion by working for Northumbria University and North Tyneside Homes as the sole researcher on a 5 month project exploring the motivations of tenants with high levels of rent arrears and low levels of engagement with their landlord.

Upon the successful completion of this project I gained immediate employment with Crisis, the national charity for single homeless people. I worked as a professional in the homelessness sector for 3 years before gaining a PhD studentship from Northumbria University, starting the project in October 2014.
