PhD in Computer Science and Digital Technologies

Ait -lishamiRecent developments in the field of crime have led to a renewed interest in new technological innovations to improve the performance of Biometric recognition systems. Biometric technology uses person recognition applications as a form of identification of humans by their unique, reliable and stable physiological and/or behavioural characteristics such as fingerprint, palm print, face, gait, etc. Gait recognition is an important biometric modality for identification where walking patterns of a person are unique if compared with other biometric techniques such as face recognition. Doctoral research concerns the human gait recognition using gait energy image (GEI). The main challenge is to propose a novel biometric approach to recognizing the gait of an individual by exploring the information related to its motion from GEI in the presence of some covariates due to the shadows, clothing variations, and carrying conditions.
