Accredited by the Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors (RICS), the course will teach you all you need to know to succeed in commercial property surveying.

From developing your knowledge of the key concepts and frameworks related to built environment disciplines to specific real estate surveying skills -  such as your ability to value commercial property, manage property assets, analyse property market data, evaluate property proposals and acquire sites for building - this Masters degree will enhance your professional profile and earning potential.

The recommended study time for this course is 15 hours a week, so it is ideal for busy working professionals. Plus, our distance learning delivery and flexible carousel model means you’ll be able to balance your studies alongside any current commitments – no need for a career break or to disrupt your personal life.

Study your course, your way. As a distance learning student, you can access the same teaching and research facilities as those on campus, while being free to study whenever and wherever you want.

Our eLearning portal, Blackboard Ultra, will offer 24/7 access to an extensive range of commercial property training materials (from online readings to videos), in-course communication tools (including discussion forums), advice and support services. You’ll also be part of a strong, global student community where you can participate in interactive seminars with tutors, group tasks and more.

A dedicated Student Success Advisor will also be on hand to support you from enrolment to all the way through to graduation. They’ll provide non-academic guidance and advice, helping you hit those important deadlines and get the most out of your time with us.

Throughout the course, your learning will be directly impacted by the teaching team’s active research. You’ll also be supported to develop your own research skills, alongside your knowledge of your chosen surveying specialism; our Research Methods module will provide you with the commercial property training needed to prepare an extensive professional research project. You’ll then put these new skills into practice when you complete a dissertation on a topic of your choice.

 

During your time with us, you’ll build the industry understanding and transferable skills needed to advance your career, even if you’re new to surveying.

Entry Requirements 2020/21

Standard Entry

Applicants should normally have: 

A minimum of a 2:2 honours degree.

International qualifications

English Language requirements 

International applicants are required to have a minimum overall IELTS (Academic) score of 6.5 with 5.5 in each component (or approved equivalent*).

Our Application Process

Applying for this course is quick and easy, and can be done using our online applicant portal.

 

As part of the application process, you’ll need to upload a selection of important documents including:

  • Your Bachelor’s degree certificate
  • A copy of your degree transcript (if this was awarded in a language other than English, you’ll need an official translation too)
  • Evidence of any other postgraduate or professional qualifications
  • An updated CV/resume
  • Proof of your English Language proficiency (if English is your second language)
  • A 500 word personal statement

If you are a non standard applicant, you will also need to send us two professional / personal references on headed paper.
