Dr Nicholas Loughlin

Research Fellow

Department: Geography and Environmental Sciences

 Nicholas Loughlin

Despite starting in geology, then moving into palaeontology and finally palaeoecology my interest has always been in using evidence to reconstruct the past. Initially using trace fossils to understand the marine environmental conditions of 550 million year old sedimentary rocks from Wales, I now reconstruct how tropical forests have responded to changing climate and human impact over the last 11,700 years.
