Dr Nan Lin

Senior Lecturer

Department: Mathematics, Physics and Electrical Engineering

NAN-LINDr Lin gained Bsc degree in Mathematics and Applied from East China Normal University in 2005, followed by an MSc with distinction in Financial Mathematics with Management in 2006 and a PhD in Statistics and Biostatistics in 2010 from Newcastle University. His thesis, entitled “Inference and Bias Analysis: Double Misspecification, Meta-analysis and Other Problems”, was highly appreciated by the viva external examiner, Prof. John Copas (many thanks to my PhD supervisors Prof Robin Henderson and Dr Jian Qing Shi).

Nan works in statistical methodology and medical applications. He has interests in developing methods for sensitivity analysis, particularly in problems of unmeasured confounding, and quasi-likelihood for electronic medical record and longitude data and before-and-after and difference-in-differences designs. Nan also has interest in developing research in medical imaging.
