Nigel Coates

Principal Lecturer/Teaching Fellow

Department: Newcastle Business School

Prior to joining NBS Nigel worked in both consumer and business to business (high technology sector) marketing / commercial management, in both SME's and for a blue chip multinational.

Whilst at NBS, Nigel has undertaken applied research, Knowledge Transfer Partnerships and consultancy in a number of areas including, New Product Development (for a major industrial manufacturing company), market orientation and the implementation of strategic marketing planning (for a group of SME companies), the relationship of marketing and Total Quality Management, and the application and development of marketing; including the non-traditional areas.

Nigel also undertakes research into Learning and Teaching.

Nigel teaches on UG / PG Programmes and supervisors doctoral students. He has examined at all these level both internal and external to the University.
