I am from Islamic Republic of Iran. One of the main businesses in the world is steel manufacturing and I decided to work in one of the top 3 technology suppliers for steel industries in the world. This company is DANIELI with 100 years history in steel industry. After 6 years' experience at Mobarakeh Steel Company (MSC) & International System Engineering & Automation Company (IRISA), I decided to work as a marketing & sales manager for DANIELI in the Iran branch. The combination of my academic knowledge and my 6 years work experience in the steel industry, helped me to get good position at DANIELI in the Iran branch and now I am satisfied about my job because I can feel that I have the ability to work in one of the best companies in the world.

I am Marketing & Sales Manager at DANIELI in Iran Branch.

How did studying at Northumbria help you achieve your career goals / give your career an edge?

I achieved many things during my studies at Northumbria. One of the best achievements was thinking innovatively, being creative and analytical. With the help of good course content and fantastic teaching methods, I gained good knowledge and I used my academic knowledge in my job and got very good results. Northumbria's atmosphere was very good for me because I had unforgettable memories from university.

What was the best thing about your course?

My programme was designed and organised very well and the outcomes of each module were practical and tangible. I think my programme selected each module based on business' needs and all of the modules worked together very well.

Who inspired you the most, and why?

My programme leader and my dissertation supervisor were very supportive and they helped me to reach my goals.

Which skills/knowledge did you learn on your course that you use most now/throughout your career?

I learned business analysis, project management, problem solving, business startup & entrepreneurship.

What did you enjoy most about your time at Northumbria University?

I spent most of my time at the University's library and completing group projects and I enjoyed spending my time with my lecturers and classmates.

What advice would you give somebody who is thinking of studying at Northumbria?

My advice is that students should choose Northumbria if they are looking for learning based on practical methods and want to get a good job after graduation.
