Where are you doing now?

I founded and run NEoffers.co.uk., the online voucher website for the North East.  Similar to Groupon and Living social, it encourages people to spend locally whilst benefiting local businesses and the local economy.

How did studying at Northumbria help you achieve your career goals / give your career an edge?

It gave me not only the knowledge to start my own business but a wider understanding and skill-base, such as an analytic approach to problems and time management

What was the best thing about your course?

As it was relevant to what I have gone on to do in term of running my own business.

Who inspired you the most, and why?

There was a student on my course who had a work ethic like I had never seen before.  Through planning for seminars he contributed many ideas that others had not considered.

Which skills/knowledge did you learn on your course that you use most now/throughout your career?

The analytical approach. Before university I very much 'skimmed' on details and had a very laid back approach. Seeing at university that this would not get me very far it made me change instantly and gave me the skills crucial for running your own business.

What did you enjoy most about your time at Northumbria University?

Being based in the city centre. My first year I was based at MMU in Crewe.  It was in the middle of nowhere and was a completely different experience to Northumbria.

What advice would you give somebody who is thinking of studying at Northumbria?

Do not hesitate in studying at Northumbria. Northumbria is based in Newcastle City centre, one of the biggest social and cultural cities within the country and a fantastic place to study.

How would you describe your time at Northumbria in 3 words?

All-round Great Experience
